Penny Jar for iPhone

Privacy policy

Your family’s information deserves a simple, clear explanation.

Your jars stay on your iPhone

Penny Jar is a family savings and rewards tracker. The app works offline and does not require an account. The developer does not receive your jar data automatically. The app has no advertising, tracking or analytics SDKs.

What the app saves

Penny Jar saves the names or nicknames you enter, each child's currency, jar target and button amounts, balances, total earned, jars filled, recent collection dates and amounts, and your selected child. These records are stored in the app's private storage on your iPhone. A nickname is enough; a child's real name is not required.

Children and parents

Parents and carers can create and manage jars for children. No child's details are sent to the developer by the app. There are no social profiles, chat features, ads or location tracking. Please do not include children's personal information when contacting support.

Retention and deletion

Saved jars remain on your device until you change or remove them. Settings → choose a child → Reset usage clears that child's active balance, totals and collection history while keeping their settings. Remove child deletes that child's active jar; the app keeps at least one jar. Deleting the app removes its local app data from that device. Offloading the app can retain its data. An upgrade from an early version may retain a one-time local migration backup until the app is deleted. The developer cannot remotely access or erase your jars.

Device backups

Apple device backups may include Penny Jar data depending on your backup settings. Penny Jar does not operate its own cloud storage or sync service. Resetting a jar or deleting the app does not necessarily remove data from an existing device backup. You manage those backups through Apple's device and backup settings.

If you contact support

If you choose to email pennyjar@kosek.co.uk, we receive your email address and the information or attachments you send. We use that correspondence to answer your request and troubleshoot the app. It is handled through email providers and kept as needed to resolve the request and meet applicable obligations. You can contact the same address to ask about or request deletion of support correspondence. The app does not attach your jars to an email automatically.

The Penny Jar website

The public support and privacy pages are hosted on Microsoft Azure in the app owner’s Azure tenant. The hosting service and its providers may process technical connection information, such as your IP address and browser information, to deliver and protect the pages. We do not add advertising, analytics scripts or contact forms to the website. Choosing an email link opens your email app; it does not send a message automatically.

Changes and contact

This policy describes the current app. If its data practices change, we will update the policy and its date. For privacy questions, contact Penny Jar support at pennyjar@kosek.co.uk.
